President's Message

Welcome! Thank you for visiting the Philippine Nurses Association of Alabama website. PNAAL was founded in August of 2019.  It is our vision to be the lead organization in Alabama that advocates for the Filipino American nurses and our associate members, an active contributor to nursing and health-related policies and laws in the state of Alabama as well as in the nation. We are driven by our core value of giving back to the nursing profession, and our community.

Thanksgiving Message

Gratitude and appreciation are quintessential elements to the celebration of Thanksgiving. In as much as Thanksgiving most often highlights the rosy happenings of life, authentic thanksgiving encompasses the valleys of life as well.

Yes, we are thankful for our loved ones, our inner circle, our communities. We are thankful for out jobs, our professional advancements and growth. We are thankful for our health and well-being. We are thankful for our opportunities to re-create, have fun, and enjoy life.

Yes, we are also thankful for the valleys of life that draw us near our God, our family, our friends. We are thankful for phases of hardship as they provide opportunities to grow and become stronger. We are thankful for the crucible of life, as the Pilgrims, the original celebrator of Thanksgiving, were. They know that, despite their challenges and difficulties, they serve a sovereign, sufficient, and benevolent God.

Gratitude and appreciation are not ends in themselves. They are the starting blocks to reaching out to others. It is my strong conviction that Thanksgiving should be a moving force for us to give back and to care for others.

This year, PNA Alabama has been actively involved in giving back to the community, impacting thousands of lives locally and internationally. Our organization has been a conduit of giving back to our profession via our involvement in local, regional, and national PNAA activities.

My wish is for you and your family to experience a meaningful Thanksgiving. May it direct you to a vision and a mission bigger than yourself. May it prompt you to action, giving back to your profession of nursing, and your community.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sincerely,

Dominador “Jun” Bitago, MNA, CRNA
